Philippines 14 days: Manila and a focused Palawan route
Two weeks can combine a city introduction and a meaningful Palawan stay if you resist adding a third island chain. This itinerary uses Manila, Puerto Princesa and El Nido. It distinguishes the Puerto Princesa city base from Sabang and gives the long road move its own day. Coron and Balabac are separate routes rather than automatic additions.

- Suggested time
- 14 days; suggested 13 nights
- Where to stay
- Metro Manila, Puerto Princesa city and El Nido town side
- Season and timing
- Check the forecast and route-specific official notices before each outdoor or marine outing. Regional climate patterns do not guarantee conditions on your travel date.
The short answer
Use days 1–3 for Manila, day 4 for the verified Palawan arrival, days 5–6 for Puerto Princesa-based choices, day 7 for the road move, days 8–11 for El Nido, day 12 for departure repositioning, day 13 for the final gateway buffer and day 14 for leaving. Flight gateway and terminal changes must be checked against the actual booking.
Days 1–4: city context before Palawan
Stay at a real Metro Manila base and choose a checked city district rather than crossing the whole metropolis each day. A Makati hotel is separate from Intramuros; allow the actual approach if planning a heritage visit. Keep day 3 suitable for rest and preparation.
On day 4 use the flight you have verified to reach Palawan. Puerto Princesa PPS is the suggested starting gateway. Arrange the city hotel transfer and avoid attaching the Underground River excursion to an uncertain arrival.
Days 5–7: Puerto Princesa and the road north
Choose one full excursion day after confirming permits, pickup and current operation. The Underground River approach is in Sabang, distinct from the city hotel. Honda Bay is another optional marine outing, not a spare activity to add after a full park day.
Keep another city or food day before the day 7 road transfer to El Nido. Confirm the exact receiving property and luggage approach. Do not copy a universal road duration into the booking; the selected vehicle and conditions need their own check.

Make time for the local food
What to eat and where to look
Sinigang
Choose a pork, boneless milkfish, shrimp or salmon-with-miso soup version from Gerry’s Filipino menu.
- Where to look
- Gerry’s operator lists an Ayala Circuit Makati branch; choose this or another actual branch whose address fits your mainland base, then confirm its current menu.
- Fit it into your day
- A seated main meal with rice after arrival or between excursions.
Ask about broth, seafood, sauces and any ingredient exclusions.
Beef kare-kare
A beef main dish on Gerry’s Filipino menu; ask the kitchen about its sauce, condiments and nut ingredients.
- Where to look
- Gerry’s operator lists an Ayala Circuit Makati branch; choose this or another actual branch whose address fits your mainland base, then confirm its current menu.
- Fit it into your day
- A shared restaurant dinner; order an amount that leaves room for the next day’s plans.
Ask specifically about nuts, sauce, condiments and preparation.
Banana turon
A banana dessert on Gerry’s menu, to order after a main meal rather than as provisions for a long boat day.
- Where to look
- Gerry’s operator lists an Ayala Circuit Makati branch; choose this or another actual branch whose address fits your mainland base, then confirm its current menu.
- Fit it into your day
- Optional sweet after lunch, not a substitute for provisions on a boat day.
Check wrapper, filling, dairy and other ingredients with the seller.
Days 8–11: El Nido with movable marine plans
Use the first usable slot for the priority island excursion and leave another slot movable. El Nido Island Hopping Tour A with Lunch meets at MABUHAY Sports Bar in El Nido and returns to that base; it is one optional boat outing, not a Puerto Princesa transfer or this whole itinerary. Confirm current fees, access and equipment directly. Cadlao’s operator information grounds a town-side lodging example; discuss final access with the property.
Include a land or hotel day and an unhurried meal. The three Gerry’s menu choices below fit the Makati gateway stage; Cadlao’s Caalan restaurant is a separate El Nido dining lead whose menu and approach should be checked before reserving.

Days 12–14: choose the exit that your tickets support
Use day 12 to reach the actual departure side, with any road journey explicitly arranged. If leaving from El Nido ENI, verify the current carrier and onward airport; the carrier notice checked on 3 October 2026 makes old Manila-terminal assumptions unreliable. If leaving from PPS, plan the road return rather than treating it as a local transfer.
Day 13 belongs at the final gateway when separate bookings require that buffer. Day 14 is departure. Remove an excursion if necessary to retain a workable exit; the plan does not promise that every marine outing will run.

Practical questions
Does this route include Coron?
No. Coron uses a different approach and would require rebuilding the route.
Is the Underground River in the city centre?
No. Its Sabang approach needs a separately arranged excursion.
Can I assume El Nido flights use the old Manila airport?
Check the current carrier and actual airport code; carrier notice checked on 3 October 2026 makes that assumption unsafe.
Why keep day 13 flexible?
It protects the final gateway connection when separate services or conditions disrupt the route.

Does this experience fit your route?
Fits one marine day in the El Nido block; Manila, Puerto Princesa, road travel and accommodation remain independent. Confirm the provider’s current meeting or pickup instructions and inclusions before booking.
