Philippines festivals and events 2027: month-by-month calendar
The Philippine year is shaped by the Catholic calendar and by town fiestas: Cebu's Sinulog for the Santo Niño in January, Baguio's flower festival in February, Holy Week, and the harvest decorations of Pahiyas in May. This calendar gives the 2027 holidays declared by the President, says which festival dates are still expected, and what each means for your trip.

- Suggested time
- Most holidays are single days; Holy Week gives three holidays in a row and the year ends with holidays on 24-25 and 30-31 December.
- Where to stay
- Cebu City for Sinulog and Fiesta Señor, Baguio for Panagbenga, Lucban in Quezon province (a road trip from Manila) for Pahiyas.
- Season and timing
- January to May holds the big festivals; Holy Week in late March 2027 is the busiest travel week.
The short answer
The Philippines' key 2027 dates: Sinulog in Cebu, expected Sunday 17 January, Panagbenga in Baguio through February, Chinese New Year (6 February), Holy Week holidays 25-27 March, Day of Valour (9 April), Pahiyas in Lucban (15 May), Independence Day (12 June), National Heroes Day (30 August), All Saints' and All Souls' Days (1-2 November) and Christmas (24-25 December). Eid dates are declared separately.
How to read this calendar
The holiday dates come from Proclamation No. 1427 of 8 September 2026, which declares the regular holidays and special non-working days for 2027, as reported by the Philippine Information Agency. The two Eid holidays are not in it: their dates are declared separately, so we give the likely dates and mark them as to be confirmed.
Festival dates follow each festival's own rule, such as Sinulog on the third Sunday of January or Pahiyas on 15 May. Where the 2027 programme had not been published, we say the date is expected. A holiday on its own does not tell you which shops, sights or transport close, so check the places you plan to visit.
January: Fiesta Señor and Sinulog in Cebu
New Year's Day, Friday 1 January, is a regular holiday.
In Cebu City, the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño has announced Fiesta Señor 2027 for 7 to 17 January, with a further celebration on 22 January. This is the religious festival of the Santo Niño at the basilica.
Sinulog, the dance and parade festival in honour of the Santo Niño, has its main day on the third Sunday of January, which in 2027 is Sunday 17 January. The 2027 parade programme had not been published. If you want to be in Cebu that weekend, book your flight and room early.

February: Panagbenga and Chinese New Year
Panagbenga, the Baguio Flower Festival, is the city's annual February festival, with street dancing and floats covered in flowers; the Philippine Information Agency says it draws people from across the country and abroad. In 2026 some events ran into March. The 2027 parade dates had not been announced.
Chinese New Year, Saturday 6 February, is a special non-working day.

March and April: Eid'l Fitr, Holy Week and the Day of Valour
Eid'l Fitr, at the end of Ramadan, is likely around Wednesday 10 March, give or take a day; the Philippine date is declared separately.
Holy Week brings Maundy Thursday 25 March and Good Friday 26 March, both regular holidays, and Black Saturday 27 March, a special non-working day; Easter Sunday is 28 March. In 2026, Cebu transport officials warned of heavy traffic and crowded terminals and seaports and urged sea passengers to book tickets in advance; plan the same for 2027.
Day of Valour (Araw ng Kagitingan), Friday 9 April, is a regular holiday.
May and June: Pahiyas, Eid'l Adha and Independence Day
Labour Day falls on Saturday 1 May.
Pahiyas in Lucban, Quezon province, is held on 15 May each year, a Saturday in 2027. Houses are decorated with produce and kiping, colourful rice-wafer ornaments, in thanksgiving to San Isidro Labrador for the harvest. The 2027 programme had not been published.
Eid'l Adha is likely around Monday 17 May, give or take a day; the Philippine date is declared separately.
Independence Day, Saturday 12 June, is a regular holiday.

August to December: Heroes, Undas and the Christmas season
Ninoy Aquino Day, Saturday 21 August, is a special non-working day, and National Heroes Day, Monday 30 August, a regular holiday.
All Saints' Day, Monday 1 November, and All Souls' Day, Tuesday 2 November, are special non-working days; the proclamation says they allow time for traditional observances and family ties. Together with the weekend they make a four-day break.
Bonifacio Day, Tuesday 30 November, is a regular holiday.
The year ends with Christmas Eve (Friday 24 December), Christmas Day (Saturday 25 December), Rizal Day (Thursday 30 December) and New Year's Eve (Friday 31 December), a mix of regular holidays and special non-working days.
