How much does a trip to Bali cost? 2027 budget for 7 days
A week in Bali, with three nights among the rice terraces and temples of Ubud and three by the calm beach at Sanur, is one of the best-value beach-and-culture trips in this guide. A plate of babi guling costs well under IDR 100,000 and a Bali coffee IDR 15,000. Two costs surprise first-time visitors: the visa on arrival and Bali's tourist levy, which every European pays. This guide prices the whole week at three levels, with every room, meal, car, boat, ticket, visa and SIM included, then adds the flight from Europe.

- Suggested time
- 7 days, 6 nights: 3 in Ubud, 3 in Sanur.
- Where to stay
- Central Ubud near the Monkey Forest; Sanur on the south-east coast.
- Season and timing
- Priced for 12-18 July 2027, in the dry season and the busy European summer holidays.
The short answer
A 7-day trip to Bali (Ubud, Sanur and a day on Nusa Penida) in July 2027 costs about IDR 8.1 million per person on a budget (about EUR 400), IDR 12.6 million mid-range (about EUR 620) or IDR 25.3 million in comfort (about EUR 1,250), for two people sharing a room, with all meals, cars and drivers, the fast boat, the Batur sunrise trek, sights, the visa on arrival, the Bali tourist levy, a SIM and a 10% buffer. A return flight from London adds about GBP 900-1,200 per person.
The totals
| Level | Per person, about IDR | For two, about IDR |
|---|---|---|
| Budget | 8,100,000 (EUR 400) | 16,200,000 |
| Mid-range | 12,600,000 (EUR 620) | 25,200,000 |
| Comfort | 25,300,000 (EUR 1,250) | 50,600,000 |
These totals cover everything on the ground for the whole week: rooms, three meals and drinks every day, cars with drivers, the shuttle to Sanur, the fast boat to Nusa Penida, the Batur sunrise trek, temple tickets and a licensed guide, the visa on arrival, the Bali tourist levy, a local SIM and a 10% buffer for snacks, tips and small surprises. Only the international flight is separate, and it is priced at the end. Euro figures use the European Central Bank rate of 20 October 2026 (EUR 1 = IDR 20,170.57).
The model trip
Two adults share one private room for 7 days and 6 nights, from 12 to 18 July 2027, following our Bali in 7 days itinerary: three nights in Ubud, with the Monkey Forest, the palace and museum, a dance evening, and a day by car to the Tegallalang terraces, Gunung Kawi and Tirta Empul; a sunrise trek on Mount Batur, then the move to Sanur for three nights; a day trip by fast boat to the west coast of Nusa Penida; a slow day on a bicycle along Sanur's beach path; and home from the airport. Prices were checked on 21 October 2026.
Unlike most countries in this guide, Bali is not visa-free for Europeans. Citizens of the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy and other EU countries buy a visa on arrival (IDR 500,000 for 30 days), and every foreign visitor pays Bali's tourist levy of IDR 150,000; both are in the totals. See Indonesia entry requirements. Most hotels have not published rates for July 2027 and many warungs publish no prices, so those figures are estimates marked "about", based on the rates and menus we could see.
