Iloilo and Guimaras 5 days: city meals and one island day
Five days can give Iloilo more than a quick airport stop while making room for a Guimaras day. This version keeps a mainland hotel throughout and treats the island as a separately arranged excursion. It suits travellers interested in food and urban heritage who want a coastal contrast without another hotel move. A Guimaras overnight is a different version that needs another receiving address and exit plan.

- Suggested time
- 5 days; suggested 4 mainland nights
- Where to stay
- Mandurriao / Iloilo Business Park, with a distinct Guimaras excursion
- Season and timing
- Check the forecast and route-specific official notices before each outdoor or marine outing. Regional climate patterns do not guarantee conditions on your travel date.
The short answer
Use day 1 for Iloilo arrival, day 2 for a city heritage-and-food block, day 3 for a carrier- and weather-confirmed Guimaras excursion, day 4 for another mainland day or a movable outing, and day 5 for departure. Confirm the actual Iloilo and Guimaras wharves; do not copy old pumpboat frequencies or fares.
Days 1–2: choose the city district before the hotel
ILO airport is at Cabatuan, so arrange the road transfer to Mandurriao. Richmonde Hotel Iloilo is at Megaworld Boulevard corner Enterprise Road in Iloilo Business Park, an actual hotel anchor for this route. Keep the arrival meal near the room and confirm the separate city-to-wharf approach.
Use day 2 for a modest checked heritage route and a food stop. Ask about church worship access and museum openings rather than treating every named place as continuously visitable. Leave the afternoon light enough to prepare the island excursion.
Day 3: Guimaras is a complete excursion
Confirm the actual carrier, departure wharf, receiving landing and road route with the provider. Jordan access and the Alubihod/Nueva Valencia coast are different parts of the island. A crossing does not deliver you directly to every beach or restaurant.
Compare the genuine Iloilo-origin Guimaras day-tour listing if its current pickup and return improve the journey. A product with island hopping adds another marine activity whose conditions and access need confirmation. It is not an Iloilo city tour.

Make time for the local food
What to eat and where to look
La Paz batchoy
Noodle soup, verify pork/offal/shrimp ingredients and actual shop.
- Where to look
- Look for a current Iloilo City restaurant on your planned food day; the city food map names this dish, but does not guarantee today’s stock.
- Fit it into your day
- Use it as part of a seated city lunch; ask about serving size and order other dishes if needed before the separate island excursion.
Ask about actual ingredients, availability and dietary suitability; no stock guarantee.
Pancit molo
Dumpling soup, verify filling/broth and actual restaurant.

KBL
Kadyos-baboy-langka soup; pork named, not vegetarian by default.

Day 4: keep the mainland worthwhile
Use the flexible day for another city district and a seated meal, or move the Guimaras outing here if a legitimate provider confirms it can operate. A second attempt is an option rather than a guarantee. If the crossing remains unsuitable, the mainland stay can still make a complete short holiday.
Try La Paz batchoy as a noodle-soup meal, pancit molo as a dumpling-soup choice, or KBL, the kadyos-baboy-langka soup named by the city’s food information. Choose a shop that fits your city district and ask about portions and ingredients. Food on the Guimaras excursion depends on the confirmed provider and venue.

Day 5: leave from the land base
Confirm the road transfer to Cabatuan airport and the actual ticket. Keeping the final overnight in Iloilo avoids making the departure dependent on a same-day island crossing. Keep the last meal simple and close to the exit route.
If choosing a Guimaras overnight instead, rebuild day 4 around the mainland return with the exact lodging and landing specified. Do not add the overnight while retaining assumptions from this mainland-based version.

Practical questions
Do I change hotels for Guimaras?
This version keeps one Iloilo mainland base.
Does the crossing arrive at Alubihod beach?
Verify the actual landing and onward road journey; the beach is a separate destination.
Is the Guimaras tour an Iloilo heritage tour?
No. It is an island excursion whose exact origin and return require confirmation.
What if the sea outing is cancelled?
Use the mainland food/heritage day and the provider’s rescheduling or cancellation terms.
