Guimaras: a Jordan arrival or a Nueva Valencia coastal stay
Guimaras needs a choice between a Jordan arrival-and-food route and a coastal base around Nueva Valencia or Alubihod. A wharf arrival does not place you at the beach hotel. Mango dishes and products are part of the provincial food evidence, while seasonal fruit availability still needs checking.

- Suggested time
- Two island nights suit a coast stay; one full day can cover a modest route from Iloilo with the return crossing arranged.
- Where to stay
- Jordan / Rizal wharf area, Guimaras, Philippines; Alubihod / Nueva Valencia, Guimaras, Philippines
- Season and timing
- Fresh mango stock is seasonal and should be confirmed with the actual seller. Coastal boats and the Iloilo crossing depend on conditions; retain a land route and meal when island-hopping is unsuitable.
The short answer
Confirm the actual island landing, then choose the road stage and hotel coast. Use one food stop as the anchor of a land visit or give a boat outing a separate block. A turtle-themed stop is not a sighting promise or permission to feed and handle animals. Keep the return to Iloilo independent of an unconfirmed last boat.
A mango-led road day differs from a coast stay
Choose a modest road route with a real mango or restaurant stop, instead of trying to reach every attraction immediately after the crossing. Fresh fruit and processed mango products are different experiences.
For beach time, look at Nueva Valencia and the Alubihod area as the lodging decision. Guisi is a separate heritage/coastal interest in Nueva Valencia; add it only when transport and access fit the actual day.
Match the arrival wharf to the hotel
Jordan Wharf at Rizal, Jordan and MacArthur Wharf at Santo Rosario, Buenavista are distinct arrival locations. Confirm the operator’s current Iloilo departure and island landing before agreeing a local pickup.
A Jordan stay and an Alubihod coastal property have different onward road journeys. Iloilo’s airport is on Panay; the airport transfer, city wharf journey, crossing and Guimaras hotel transfer are separate stages.

Make time for the local food
What to eat and where to look
Fresh carabao mango
Seasonal fruit, no year-round stock or sweetest-in-world promise.
- Where to look
- An actual Guimaras fruit seller able to confirm ripe stock.
- Fit it into your day
- Eat fresh fruit as a snack or dessert when available.
Seasonal stock and ripeness vary; no superlative claim.
Mango pizza
Provincial processed-food candidate; confirm restaurant, dairy/nuts/meat toppings.
- Where to look
- A current Guimaras restaurant menu, such as a confirmed Jordan stop.
- Fit it into your day
- Use as a prepared meal or shared dish according to portion.
Check dairy, nuts, meat toppings and sauces.
Mango piaya
Pastry/souvenir candidate, ingredients and actual producer checked.
- Where to look
- A local producer or packaged-food shop on the route.
- Fit it into your day
- Choose as a bakery snack or gift.
Read pastry ingredients and storage instructions.
Try a mango meal without making every dish mandatory
Fresh carabao mango is a fruit choice when available. Mango pizza is a prepared restaurant option, while mango piaya works as a bakery snack or gift; ask which one is actually offered on your route.
Keep a proper lunch in the programme and check the pizza toppings, which can include dairy, nuts or meat depending on the kitchen. Packaged mango products need ingredient labels rather than a blanket assumption of pure fruit.

Decide whether another boat improves the stay
The linked Guimaras countryside and island-hopping outing starts with Iloilo City hotel pickup, rather than pickup from an island hotel. It lists Alubihod, Guisi and Natago-area interests; confirm the exact mainland meeting, island transfers, permitted stops and return. If staying around Alubihod, arrange a separate local outing with meals agreed before leaving.
A land day with a mango-related stop and a chosen coastal viewpoint can be enough. If arriving on a day tour from Iloilo, protect the return margin instead of adding another remote stop at the end.

Practical questions
Which wharf should I use?
Match the booked operator to its current landing: Jordan and Buenavista are different gateways, with different onward road transfers.
Is the airport on Guimaras?
The common flight approach is Iloilo on Panay, followed by road and sea stages. Do not infer a scheduled Guimaras flight from a runway description.
Are fresh mangoes guaranteed year-round?
No. Check current stock; processed products are a different food choice.
Do I need island hopping?
No. A modest road route and a coast stay or mango meal can form the visit; an extra boat needs a separate conditions check.
