How much does a trip to Hong Kong cost? 2027 budget for 5 days
Hong Kong is two cities for a traveller's wallet. The rooms are small and expensive, even in a guesthouse. Getting around is cheap: the Star Ferry costs HKD 5 and an MTR ride across the harbour about HKD 11. A bowl of noodles or a claypot rice costs much less than dinner in a hotel restaurant. This guide prices five days in Tsim Sha Tsui at three levels, with every room, meal, ride, ticket and SIM included, then adds the flight from Europe.

- Suggested time
- 5 days, 4 nights in Tsim Sha Tsui.
- Where to stay
- Tsim Sha Tsui, on the Kowloon side of the harbour, for all four nights.
- Season and timing
- Priced for Monday 15 to Friday 19 November 2027: autumn, usually dry and cool enough for walking, and a popular time to visit.
The short answer
A 5-day trip to Hong Kong in November 2027 costs about HKD 4,470 per person on a budget (about EUR 510), HKD 7,630 mid-range (about EUR 870) or HKD 16,100 in comfort (about EUR 1,830), for two people sharing a room in Tsim Sha Tsui, with all meals, the Airport Express, the Peak, the Ngong Ping cable car and Tai O, M+, a SIM and a 10% buffer. A return flight from London adds about GBP 850-1,100 per person.
The totals
| Level | Per person, about HKD | For two, about HKD |
|---|---|---|
| Budget | 4,470 (EUR 510) | 8,940 |
| Mid-range | 7,630 (EUR 870) | 15,260 |
| Comfort | 16,100 (EUR 1,830) | 32,200 |
These totals cover everything on the ground for the whole trip: the room, three meals and drinks every day, the Airport Express both ways, every MTR ride, ferry, bus and taxi, the cable car to Ngong Ping, the paid sights on the route, a local SIM and a 10% buffer for snacks, tips and small surprises. Only the international flight is separate, and it is priced at the end. Euro figures use the European Central Bank rate of 20 October 2026 (EUR 1 = HKD 8.8023).
